Some of the things that people in Bangkok celebrate are:
Media: Bangkok has 21 national newspapers and 200+ magazines, and is the core of Thailand's broadcast television.
Sport: Some sports played in Bangkok are Muay Thai kickboxing, football, sepak takraw (kick volleyball), golf, exclusive horse riding and popular horseracing. Western sports were introduced during the time of King Chulalongkorn and were only available to the wealthy.
Bangkok has two racecourses: Royal Bangkok Sports Club and Royal Turf Club of Thailand
And two main sports centers: National Stadium Complex which was opened in 1935, and Hua Mak Sports Complex which was specifically built for the 1998 Asian Games which Bangkok also hosted in 1966, 1970 and 1978

- Songkran (13th-15th of April) where water fights take place that are believed to wash the bad away
- King Chulalongkorn Memorial Day (23th October) when wreaths are placed at the royal plaza by King Chulalongkorn's equestrian statue.
- King and Queen (current) Birthdays (5th December and 12th August) which have been marked as Thailand’s Father’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Bangkok Landmarks
Wat Phra Keaw
(Temple of the Emerald Buddha) A limestone carved Buddha which no one besides the King is allowed near. Each season (summer, winter and rainy) the king redresses the Buddha with a different robe to bring good fortune during each season.

Wat Pho
(Temple of the Reclining Buddha) Located behind Wat Phra Keaw, it is one of the largest temple complexes in Bangkok and is prominent because of its giant reclined Buddha. The Buddha is 46 meters long and is covered in gold leaf and mother of pearl (feet), and is found inside the temple.

Grand Palace
Found in the heart of Bangkok, it is Thailand’s most famous tourist attraction. Built in 1782, it has been home to the Thai King, Royal court and administrative government for 150 years. The Palace is a collection of buildings, halls, lawns gardens and courtyards, which altogether covers 218,4000m2 and is surrounded by four walls.
